She was predeceased by: her parents, Gertrud Bayer (Sohlberg) and Luther Bayer; her husband John Alfred Gruber; and her siblings, Joyce and Ken.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marta (Ken Brennan) and Heidi (Mark Lagacé); her grandsons, Gabriel and Dominic of Ottawa; her niece Glynis Bailey (Eric); her nephews, Philip Thompson of Nova Scotia and Scott Thompson of Nova Scotia; and her brother-in-law Robert Gruber of Edmonton.
