She was predeceased by: her husband Arnold "Arnie" Powell; and her brother Gerald Boon. She is survived by: her children, Kerry (Lynn), Lloyd and Kim Steele (Lyall); her grandchildren, Simon Powell (Francis), Stephanie Hawkins (Chris) and Sydney Steele; her great grandchildren, Ivy, Brock, Tye and Rylea; her brother Harold Boon; and her friend Norma Steele.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Breast Cancer Foundation.
