She is survived by: her husband Alvaro Garcia; her children, Mauricio, Clemencia Cardona, Juan Carlos, Alejandra Uribe, Alejandro and Claudia Nates; and her grandchildren, Juanita, Emilia, Lucas and Tomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca), or St. Faustina Parish in honor of Maria-Helena's courageous fight.
