He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen (Scharf); and his siblings, Joyce (late Keith Boyd), Spencer (late Lois), Hilton (Patsy), Lorna (late Dave Ranger), Irma (late Jack Armstrong) and Donna (Bill Bishop).

He is survived by: his children, Brenda (Gord Reaney), Jim and Sandra (John Oswald); his grandchildren, Scott Reaney (Emma), Leanne (Rick Coyle) and Stephanie Oswald (Cory Summers); his great grandchildren, Ellen, Gavin, Keira, McCormack, Carson, Brendan, Liam and Kayleigh; his siblings, Merrill McVey and Lannie (Kathy); and his brother-in-law Gary Scharf.
