She was predeceased by: her husband John R. May; her daughter Nancy; her parents, Alex Birch and Saimi Birch (Kaija); and her brother Danny Birch.

She is survived by: her children, Bruce (Bertha), Peter and Julie; her sister Viola Shanks of Thunder Bay; and her grandchildren, Julie, Patrick (Marlee), John and Jamie.
