He was predeceased by: his parents, Percival McCool and Maxwell Olive McCool; his wife Anna Mary McCool; and his siblings, Patrick and Elieen.

He is survived by: his children, Leonard John McCool, Roy Joseph McCool (Lucinda), Loretto Mary McCool and Helen Maxwell Lila McCool (Topher); and his grandsons, Dylan McCool, Zachary McCool and Sean McCool.
