She is survived by: her children, Louise (Evan), Doritt (Dan), Duncan (Laurie) and Scott (Cheri); her grandchildren, David (Jenn), Stephanie (Matt), Dylan (Ruby), Tess (Gianluca), Zachary, Patrick (Mackenzie), Oliver (Jana) and Sam; her great grandchildren, Arya, Gavin, Kinlee, Lily, Nora, Kaia, Asher, Aila, Espen and Louis; and her sister Iona MacDonald.

“This is Margie Whyte. My mom Helena Whyte ( Marshall) & your Mom were cousins & great friends. Your Mom & Dad came to the cottage in Pugwash many times. I got to know them. After my Mom passed away in 1993, Leila wrote to me every year. I valued this correspondence. During Covid I heard from her a bit more often, she would alwys say she was very happy and not too lonely as her wonderful Children called her every day. I am sorry for your loss . I felt privaledged to have known her”
