He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Catherine Gourley (David), Valerie Murray, Eleanor Hills, Peter Hills (Christina Dendys), Jenny Wolf and Pamela Kovacs (Michael); and his siblings, Ruth Penchuk, Sydney Hills and John Hills. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
