Kenneth Albert Milligan Obituary

Peacefully on Tuesday December 12th, 2023 at the age of 92 years.

Ken will be deeply missed by his wife of over 31 years, Shirley Yakabuski. Predeceased by his beloved late wife Thelma (nee Jones) on September 3rd, 1986. Cherished father to Robert Milligan (Angela), Rachel Anderson (Doug) and Angela Lamothe (Mitch). Adoring "Gramps" to April Laforce (Justin), Tara Roy, Riley Milligan and proud great grandfather to Ollie. He was also a loving brother to Ross Milligan who predeceased him one month earlier.

Fondly remembered by the Yakabuski Family, stepdad to Mark Yakabuski (Gail deceased), Matthew Yakabuski (Christine), Anne Marie Smith (Jeffrey) as well as grandchildren Zachary and Brayden Smith and Anastasia Yakabuski.

Ken loved spending his summers for over 50 years at his family cottage "Milla Villa" in Crow Lake, Ontario where he could often be found creating beautiful landscapes and stone work. After 33 years of service at Ottawa Hydro, Ken retired shortly after marrying Shirley in April 1992. They then created fond memories of spending their winters together near Orlando, Florida for the next 18 years.

Ken loved watching hockey ever since he was a child and especially his idol Gordie Howe. He never missed an Ottawa Senators game playing on TV and although he grew up in Toronto, he was clear that he was not a "Leaf's" fan .

Ken was truly a "Gentle Man" and will leave a missing piece in all of our hearts. We take solace in our cherished memories of his kindness, warmth and witty sense of humour.

Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home-Kanata Chapel, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, Ont. K2M 1H4, 343-601-5081 On Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 11am to 12 noon followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 12 noon.

Interment will take place at a later date at Johnston's Corners Cemetery.
