He was predeceased by: his parents, Andreas Unger (András) and Anna Unger. He is survived by: his wife Gerda Sieling; his sons, René and André; his children-in-law, Saraswathi and Carmen; his grandchildren, Kiran, Eva and Arden; and his siblings, John and Johanna.
Those who wish to give a donation in Josef's memory may give it to the University of Guelph's Honey Bee Research Centre, or any other charity of their choice.
