He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Brenda McLauchlan; his children, Matt McLauchlan, Jen (Nee McLauchlan) and Shawn Maynard; his grandchildren, Julia, Wesley, Aurora McLauchlan, Owen and Shelby Maynard; his grandchildren-in-law, Robert McLauchlan, Anna Monteforte, Susan (Sue), Richard Piotrowski, Rev. Sandra and Bob Abuja (Nee McLauchlan); his former wife Terry (Therese Nee Herrington); and his parents, Doris McLauchlan and Wesley McLauchlan of Magog. He was also cherished by brother / sisters.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 5th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery (3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C3H1). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church (1758 Alta Vista Dr, Ottawa, ON K1G0G6). A reception was held on Friday, September 6th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery (3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C3H1).
