He was predeceased by: his son Stephen Mellor; his siblings, Marion Nolan and Brian Mellor (Brenda); his sister-in-law Patsy Stanton; and his parents, Edward Mellor and Ellen Mellor.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Marg"; his children, Tom Mellor (Kathy) and Terry Mellor (Vicki); and his sister Patricia Shane (Ken). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
