He was predeceased by: his spouse Dorothy Allen; his parents, Clarence Highley and Elizabeth Murphy; his siblings, Peggie and Frank; and his son-in-law Alan Farrell.

He is survived by: his children, Catherine, Anne (Richard Konchak), Patricia (Tom Dunbar), Michael (Lise Beauregard) and Rosemary (Ian Symes); his grandchildren, Heather (Dan Olszewski), Jennifer (Jon Wylie), Graham Konchak, Ryan Highley (Lindsay McConnell), Matthew Dunbar (Jenn Jodoin), Adam Highley (Ashlee Mannion), Jordan Highley, Thomas Farrell and Scott Farrell; and his great grandchildren, Aria, Bethany Olszewski, Hannah, Callie Wylie, Jaxon, Windsor Highley, Peyton, Everleigh Highley, Lucie Dunbar and Jack.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
