She was predeceased by: her husband Marc Chassé; and her mother Rejeanne Vahey. She is survived by: her father Lucien Barre; her siblings, Lucie Gagnon, Michelle Vahey and Carl Vahey; her mother-in-law Ruth Chassé; her siblings-in-law, Lise Chassé, Carol Chassé and Paul Chassé; and her close friend Chesley Fry.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ottawa Humane Society in Joan's name would be greatly appreciated.
