He is survived by: his wife Dymphna; his children, Dr. Colin McCarthy (Angela), Sheila Hynes (Declan), Christine Butler (Terry) and Jeremiah McCarthy; his grandchildren, Qwynn, Sloane, Cian, Annalise and Alannah; and his siblings, Patrick MacCarthy (Helen) and Catherine Killeen (Steve).
