He was predeceased by: his parents, Oran Dickie and Esther Dickie (Katajamaki); his parents-in-law, René and Juliette Pilon; his brother Raymond Dickie; his siblings-in-law, Marc, Doris Pilon, Mary Pilon, Lise, Jack Anderson and Gail Dickie; and also, Hélène, Robert Topp, Robert Pilon, Michel Pilon and Larry McNabb.
He is survived by: his wife Rita (Pilon); his children, Renée Kerr (Matthew Kerr) and Sean Dickie (Adèle Dignard); his grandchildren, Julia, Tristan, Isabelle and Ashley; his family, Gabriella, Jessica and Rachael; and his siblings, Doreen McNabb and Brian Dickie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family and numerous lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Highland Park (2037 McGee Side Rd, Carp, ON K0A1L0). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
As an expression of sympathy, Ian's wish was that donations be made to the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice (http://www.hospicecareottawa.ca) in his honour.
