He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred McLaughlin and Lima Kealey; and his siblings, Earl, Muriel (late Austin Henry) and Bryan (Audrey).

He is survived by: his wife Yvette; his children, John (Sandra Shean), Wanda (Ken Doren), Pat (Joanne Zimbalatte) and Donna (Kevin Timmins); his grandchildren, Holly, Riley, Robin McLaughlin, Corey, Molly Doren, Sam, Liam McLaughlin, Erika Scissons (Scott) and Erin Timmins; his great grandchildren, Emmett, Warren and Miller Scissons; and his siblings, Dwight (Colleen), Florence (late Francis Sullivan) and Helena (late Arden O'Connor). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
