It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Gertrude Caldwell (Ottawa, Ontario), who passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Helen Gertrude's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Helen Gertrude has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her mother Lila Garvin; her husband Forest; and her sisters, Eva (Kilrea), Edna (Harris) and Sybil (Cole). She is also survived by her nephews, grandnieces and their children.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home (1411 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, ON K1V1A6). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Johnston's Corners Cemetery.
