He was predeceased by: his parents, Grant Cranston Sr. and Ruth; and his aunt Margaret Graham. He is survived by: his children, Rowan, Rachael and Hugh Cranston; his granddaughter Wendy; his wife Lynn Stevenson; his siblings, Jennifer Harbord (Jim), Peter Cranston (Cathy) and Kim Cranston; his cousin Melissa Graham; his uncle Frank; and also, Gayla Larsen, Larry, Gay Stevenson and Karin Gohm.
