He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Chestnut and Betty Chestnut; his wife Sherry Chestnut; his children, Mitchell Chestnut (Alanna) and Christina Franklin (Lorne); his grandchildren, Jason and Aly Franklin; his siblings, Steven Chestnut (Kris), Karen Chestnut and Sherri Chestnut; and his nieces and nephews, Jamie, Matthew, Krissii and Cyndii. He was also cherished by many other relatives and friends.

We had the good fortune to have come to know Gord because our son Tyler and Mitchell had the same daycare provider in the Manotick/Osgoode area and later Gord coached Tyler and Mitchell’s soccer for several years, we remember Gord as a happy good natured guy who always had time to stop chat and share a new joke. Gord will be missed but remembered for always leaving you with a smile”
