He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Stinson and Lillian Stinson; his son Gordon Douglas; and his granddaughter Emily Watson. He is survived by: his siblings, Fred, Robert, William, Gladys (Joe Lachaine), Patricia (Jim Hughes), Eleanor and Marjorie Unsworth; his spouse Gail; his children, Ralph (Narisa), Sabine, Tammy (Ron Marion) and Melody; and his stepchildren, William (Joanne), Kristina and Jeffrey Knight (Angela). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery (3700 Prince of Wales Dr, Ottawa, ON K2C3H1).

“I am so sorry to hear of Gord's passing. I remember him fondly, he always had a smile and kind words to say. He was never judgmental and always supportive and truly interested in what was going on in our lives. Jim (Stinson) and I always were greeted with open hands and warm hearts when we visited. Jim loved him like a father and always appreciated Gord for stepping in a helping Jim's Dad when needed. Our prayers are with Gail and the rest of the family at this difficult time. Sandra Cain”
