He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Mayer and Denise Mayer; his son Patrick Mayer; and his brother Denis Mayer. He is survived by: his wife Pierrette Mayer; his children, Stephane Mayer (Elizabeth Desormeaux), Gilles Junior Mayer (Valérie Gibeault) and Jason Mayer; and his siblings, Francine Mayer, Louise Mayer, Christine Michon, Robert Mayer and Richard Mayer.
