She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chenier and Adelia Potvin; her husband Stanley Dempsey Sr.; and her son Mark Dempsey. She is survived by: her children, Stanley Jr., Linda, Ronald, Diane and Judy; her grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn), Kathleen, Cody (Karine), Crystal, Alysha of Christina, RJ, Tanya (Tom), Ashley and Mark; and her great grandchildren, Amber, Brandon, Chelsea, Nicole, Brayden, Mikayla, Marcus and Rowan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In place of flowers, donations in Germaine's honour may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Germaine's greatest joy in life was her grandchildren of which many spent time at CHEO and Ronald McDonald House and a donation to this organization in her name would truly honour her legacy.
