He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth (Davis); his daughter Marilyn Jean; his parents, Frank Marchington and Mabel Marchington; and his brothers, John Marchington (Grace) and Kenney Marchington (Annette).

He is survived by: his children, Linda Pakan Mississauga (Mark) and James Marchington Dunrobin (Elaine Gillen); his grandsons, Michael LeFave Orangeville (Donna Kent) and William Marchington Pakenham (Alexandra); his great grandchildren, Edward, Charlotte Kent and Thomas Marchington; and his sister Nancy Marchington (Perth). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
