It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emmett Joseph Shields in Ottawa, Ontario, born in Cormac, Ontario, who passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Shields and Joanna; and his siblings, Patrick, Michael (Mary), Terry, Mary Stafford (Doug) and Betty Harrington (Desmond).

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Colleen (Rob), Michael Anne, Douglas (Trish), Kevin (Susan), Shawna Dittburner (Bryan), Sharon (Paul Davies) and Brady (Lila Harris); his grandchildren, Sam, Jaclyn (Curtis), Jonathan (Kaly), Bailey (Thomas), Andy (Kyla), Gavin (Rachel), Hannah, Katie (Eric), Aidan (Maude), Melanie (Vince), Shane, Michael and Archie; and his great grandchildren, Noah, Shane, Skye, Aria, Hyde, Rocky, Lettie, Russell, Elliana, Madilyn, Eira and Senan. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, many relatives and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Ottawa Hospital, Perley Health or a charity of your choice.
