With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elly Bollegraaf (Ottawa, Ontario), who passed away on February 16, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Elly is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Elly's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Congregation Machzikei Hadas (2310 Virginia Dr, Ottawa, ON K1H6S2).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Elly's memory, to the Kidney, Cancer, and Heart Research Centres, of the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (https://ohfoundation.ca) would be greatly appreciated.

“Elly was a good friend and one of the kindest people I knew. We were friends, but also at some time colleagues. At Synagogue events, my late husband, Elly and Paddy always sat together. It was a friendship we greatly appreciated. I am happy that she did travel a lot with Paddy and loved the stories of her travels. I also appreciated her wisdom and the way she took her illness/es in stride. I grieve her loss. May her memory be for a blessing!”
