Elizabeth Seed Obituary
Elizabeth Seed (nee McDougall) passed away peacefully on 16 July at Arnprior Hospital after a brief illness. Predeceased by parents Peter and Marjorie, husband Robert, and daughter Brenda. Survived by son Michael (Christina), grandchildren Madeleine and Robert (Elizabeth), sister Janet Fenn (Robert), sister-in-law Joyce Seed, plus several nieces, nephews and their families, including Peter and Scott (Kate) Ryckman of Ottawa, as well as other relations and friends.
Born in Strathroy, Ontario and raised on the family farm in Caradoc Township, she graduated from Strathroy District Collegiate Institute and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in London. A registered nurse, she worked in Strathroy and Kitchener before moving to Ottawa and working at the Civic Hospital and then the Canadian Red Cross/Canadian Blood Services for 25 years. An avid sports fan, she was a director with the Gloucester Rangers Junior A Hockey Club in the late 80's and early 90's. A longtime resident of Beacon Hill, in recent years she lived with Michael and Christina on Buckham's Bay in Woodlawn. The family is grateful for the care she received in recent years at the Heart Institute, Ottawa General, and Arnprior Hospitals.
A Memorial service will be held at Kelly's Funeral Home (580 Eagleson Road Kanata) on Tuesday 23 July 2024 with visitation from 9:00, service at 11:00, and reception to follow. Interment in Strathroy to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation CT Scanner Campaign.
