It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elaine Rosemary Whitton in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Whitton; and her son David. She is survived by: her sons, Mark and Alan; her daughters-in-law, Lorraine and Susan; and her grandchildren, Owen, Rhianna, Katherine, Emily and Rhys. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.

“My condolences to the family of Elaine Whitton. I taught math with her for many years at Mount Royal High School. She was a wonderful teacher and a very supportive colleague when I was a young teacher. In the early 90s she joined me and a team of math teachers to write the textbook "Mathematics Now" which was used for a number of years in Quebec for a grade 11 program. I had great respect for her as did everyone I worked with at MRHS. Sincerely, Ken Elliott.”
