She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. John Robert O'Brien and Mary Helen O'Brien. She is survived by: her husband Denis Hugh Pratt; her brother John Robert O'Brien Jr.; her children, Sheila Minkhorst (Keith), David Pratt (Cathy Gaudet) and Brian Pratt; her grandchildren, Cory Minkhorst (Jocelyne Moyer), Erika Minkhorst (Jeff Scott), Emma, Alison Pratt, Michelle and Sean Pratt; her great grandchildren, Arthur, Eleanor Minkhorst, Logan and Andy Scott; her niece Kathy; her nephews, Kenneth and Gavin O'Brien; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, John Cutland, Anna Cutland, Stephanie and Erin O'Brien.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Dorothy's cherished charities, Hospice Care Ottawa - May Court Hospice and/or The St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa Foundation.
