Doris Mary Ventura Obituary
After nearly 100 years on this good earth, Doris has taken her leave.
Born in Ottawa on June 29 1924, the eldest and last surviving of the four children of Ann and Dan Palombo.
As a child, Doris spent her summers on her maternal grandparents farm in West Templeton Quebec, a place she always loved best. Eventually, Doris returned to the area in the early 1960's, building a wonderful lakeside summer home with her beloved husband, Stanley Ventura.
A woman of endless energy and creativity Doris was happiest when entertaining friends and family in her warm and beautifully decorated homes. She was marvellous cook, no one could do holidays like Doris and her Christmas Eve feasts were legendary.
An avid reader, art collector, music lover and gardener par excellence she filled her time with the many passions that brought her joy. She and Stan loved to travel, spending their winters in Spain and Portugal, always making friends along the way.
An adoring mother and role model to her children Brian (deceased), Susan and Peter and their partners Susan's husband, Mel Peverley, and Peter's wife, Kathy and, their gorgeous children Danny, Shane and Kieara.
A favourite aunt to her many nieces and nephews and cherished friend to all the pals she made in her long life.
Doris will be missed but not forgotten.

Thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Granite Ridge who saw she had the best possible care during her 10 years there.
As per Doris's wishes there will be no funeral, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. If you wish honour her memory plant a tree, there's nothing that would make her happier.
