He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Hamilton and Olive Hamilton; his stepmother Marjorie Hamilton; his siblings, Allan Hamilton (late Mavis), Gail Newton, Joan Sharp and Lois Boicey (late Orval); his parents-in-law, Gerald Coady and Anna Coady; and his brothers-in-law, Barry and Don Coady (late Judy Beggs).

He is survived by: his wife Carol (Coady); his children, Jonathan (Emma), Matthew (Megan), Lindsey (Marc), Joshua and Alexander; his grandsons, Ben, Lewis and Evan; his siblings, David Hamilton (Darlene) and Sheila (Duncan Campbell); his siblings-in-law, Wayne (Linda), Keith, Cathy, Marie, Angie (Fred Levesque), Maureen (Barry Burnett) and Anne; and his cousin Norman Hamilton. He is also survived by many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
