It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denise Patricia (Smith) Hughes in Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gabrielle Smith (D'Aoust) and Al Smith; and her children, Gary and Linda Hughes Martel. She is survived by: her husband David Bernard Hughes; her brother Desmond Smith (Nancy); her siblings-in-law, Elsie Robert (Don) and Denis Lamothe; her son-in-law Robert Martel; her great grandchildren, Owen, Emery, Quinton, Daphne, Josee, Bryson, Hadley and Adalynn; and her nephews, Stephan Smith (Kimberly), Robert Lamothe (Tania), James Lamothe (Karen), Stephen Robert (Sandra) and Lee Anne Blum (Rob).
