He was predeceased by: his parents, Clare and Evelyn; and his sister Beth. He is survived by: his spouse Marion (Clark); his children, Fiona (Rob), Margo (Al) and Colin (Daniella); his grandchildren, Sarah, Jack, Cameron, William, Robyn and Kade; his brother-in-law Stuart; his niece Heather (Roger); his nephew Jonathan (Darlene); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Theo, Lucy, Glynis and Scarlet.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels or the Canadian Cancer Society.
