He was predeceased by: his son Malcolm of Toronto; his parents, Annie Sinclair and William Lobban; and his brother Albert. He is survived by: his close friend Joan Lobban; his daughters, Kathryn, Heather, Elizabeth and Nadia (Grayson Crowe); his grandchildren, Nella, Zadie, Elicia, Ariana and Graham (Stephanie Hauser) of Waterloo; his great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Chelsey and Parker; and also France.
