He is survived by: his children, Hugh Gillespie (Robin) and Dana Budau (Patricia Murphy); his grandchildren, Meredith Fischer (Mason), Samantha Croghan (Scott), Dylan Budau (Jessica Rintoul), Dawson Budau (Olivia Haworth) and Hannah Budau; his great grandchildren, Charlie and Mavis Croghan; his siblings, Adolf (late Christine), Heinz (Wendy), Kurt (Kathy) and Traudy Emond (late John); and his wife Judy.
