We are sad to announce that on August 24, 2022, at the age of 78, Barrie Laughton (Ottawa, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert C. D. and Doris Editha Laughton; his brother Robert J. Laughton (Judy); and his sibling-in-law Jocelyn Graham (Cameron). He is survived by: his wife Carol Margaret; his children, David Jeffrey (Catherine Macrae) and Jennifer Lynne (Alan Pilcher); his grandchildren, David, William, James, Thomas and Jake; and his sister Linda Hagglund (Rodney). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jack Pearse Memorial Campership Fund or the Parkinson Society of Canada.

“Mr. Laughton, can’t call him Barrie as he was a teacher at my school, was a lovely, positive and funny man in my knowing of him. I didn’t have him as a teacher but living across the street we chatted many times at the bus stop and the occasional drive on a stormy day. Beautiful wife and two lovely kids who I babysat a few times. My condolences to his wonderful family. Even to me, his memory is a warm one and I hope your years of memories are something of a comfort to you now.”
