Alan Anderson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on June 13, 2018 we had to say goodbye to Alan Anderson (Ottawa, Ontario). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Diane Anderson; his children, Paige (Dan Begin) and Kirk (Mary Tsai); his grandchildren, Hannah, Cameron, Nick and Erik; his grandfather Camp; and also, Nothing and Diane.

Life lessons from Al seemed to revolve around strength in tough times. "It's a long road got no turns.", 'You joined this outfit to be a tough sh*t so be a tough sh*t" and of course the irony found in "It's a long way from your heart." The most valued lessons were those learned by his grandchildren during summers at the lake during the special weeks of "Grandpa Camp". Nothing brought he and Diane more joy. The family thanks the staff at Maplewood Retirement Community, and our many friends for the loving care and support during Al's final weeks and days. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Sunday, June 24 from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family has two ideas. Thank a random police officer for their service. Or go ahead and fix that deck or that loose tile or that rusty hinge that you have been "meaning to get to" for weeks. When you're done, you can look up and smile - he'll see you and smile right back. Promise.
