He is survived by his wife, sister, five children and five grandchildren.

Among them, a recipient of Canada's highest civilian honor, an appointment to the Order of Canada, he was inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, and a laureate of the prestigious Grand Prix scientifique de la Fondation Lefoulon-Delalande at the Institut de France for a lifetime of cardiovascular research excellence.Dr de Bold was laid to rest in a private family ceremony.
