He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence McHugh and Iva McHugh; his wife Betty McHugh (Ferguson); and his sister Darlene Bradimore. He is survived by: his children, Shelley McHugh-Boumans, William and Karen King (Bill); his grandchildren, Ashley Stone (Marcus), Matthew Boumans, Connor King and Cassidy King; his brothers, Robert McHugh, Garry McHugh and Don; his sister-in-law Bonny Ferguson; and his pets, Bart, Poppy and Juicy.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in William's memory may be made to Team Chelsea; and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
