He was predeceased by: his parent Thomas Birss; and his brother John. He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Birss, Jennifer Welsh (Ryan) and Jeffrey Birss (Martha); his parent Ruth Birss; and his sisters-in-law, Ken Slaney, Cathy Slaney, Bob Slaney, Amy Slaney, David Slaney and Vaishali Slaney.
