He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan; and his parents, John Henry Blakney and Myrtle Horseman. He was also cherished by 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of a visitation, funeral service or a celebration of life, Patrick requested donations be made to the Brain Cancer Research Department at the Hospital for Sick Children in his memory.
