He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Shantz and Clara Wright (Russell); his sister Dora Martyn (Harold); and his grandson Jason Shantz. He is survived by: his wife Helen May; his children, Ted Shantz (Dianne) of Calgary Alberta, Robert Shantz (Wendy) of Oshawa, Lynn Annan of Oshawa, Barbara Shantz of Bowmanville and Laura Joy Rogers (Brad) of Bowmanville; his grandchildren, Shannon Shantz, Ryan Shantz (Ashley), Kristopher Shantz (Shauna), Kory Annan, Chelsea Farrell and Hannah Stauffer (Travis); his great grandchildren, Mason, Kayleigh, Liam, Theodore and Benjamin; and his friend Cam Gordon (Lori).
