He was predeceased by: his sister Doreen. He is survived by: his wife Alfreda; his children, Jeanine and Philip (Claire); his siblings, Bernice McGrath (Jerome), Jack Noseworthy (late Sandra) and Linda Whalen (late Steven); and his brother-in-law George French.

“It is with sadness that I offer my sincerest condolences to Alfreda and the family. I remember Don fondly from my years with Community Guardian through the 80's when I first came to Canada. I remember his warmth and hospitality inviting my family and I to his home for a barbecue. I also recall, at his request, giving a demonstration with my retired police K9 partner before members of his dog club. He bravely playing the bad guy for an apprehension exercise. RIP buddy.”
