He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sandford and Lois Sandford (Ross). He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his daughter Carrie Ereddia (Joe); his grandchildren, Breanna, Victoria and Lucas; his pet Roxy; his brother Jeff Sandford (Donna); and his stepsiblings, John, Susan, Debbie, David, Janice and Andrea. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in David's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Humane Society of Durham.
