He was predeceased by: his brother Martin (Elaine Atherfold); his parents, Maria Michels and Henry Michels; his stepmother Doris Cleland (Jones); his nieces, Stephanie and Shannon; and his sister-in-law Maria.

He is survived by: his son Quincy; his siblings, Peter (Noreen Foley), Geraldine (late Maynard McEwan), Jack (Mona Azzi), Theresa (Rick Lemieux), Betty, Jim and Sylvia (Daryle Payne); and his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Thomas, Gavin, Jeffrey, Richard, Christine, Kimberly, Brian, Christopher, Graham, Shelley, Heather, Colleen, Jordan and Steven. He is also survived by many friends, cousins and extended family.
