He was predeceased by: his spouse Donna Smith. He is survived by: his children, Dave, Kevin (Marie), Sheri Mansueto (John) and Darlene Brennan (Greg); his grandchildren, Christine, Amanda, Michael, Stephanie, Aimee, Nicholas, Cassandra, Jessica, Grace and Christopher; his great grandchild Quinn; and his siblings, Carl Smith (Ruth), Charlotte Smith and Edith Smith.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
