He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Cillis and Margaret Cillis; and his brother Patrick Cillis. He is survived by: his wife Mona (MacDonald); and his siblings, Daniel Cillis, Sharon Wintjes (Hans), Terry Cillis (Judy), Colleen Scott, Doug Parmenter (Monica), Danny Parmenter (Vivian), Pamela Parmenter (Dave) and Carrol Nuthall. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He continued his contribution to social work in his retirement by serving on the board of directors of the Elizabeth Overend Non-Profit Housing and Seven South Street Treatment Centre.
