He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hope-Smith and Georgina "Tam" Hope-Smith; his sibling Page Hope-Smith; and his niece Kay Hope-Smith. He is survived by: his siblings, Stan Hope-Smith (Judith) and Tillie McMillan (Maurice); his nieces and nephews, Kim Marshall (Chris), Wendi Al-Ma'aytah, Blake Hope-Smith, Tammy Wilson (Jim), Megan MacDonald (Stewart), Page Kennedy (David) and Erin McWhirter (James); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler, Catherine, Jacob Marshall, Omar, Ali Al-Ma'aytah, Matilda, Duncan, Molly, Carole Wilson, Atticus, Phynn Kennedy, Megan, Brian and Esson McWhirter.
