He is survived by: his wife Kay; his daughters, Elaine Wright of Ottawa, Kathryn Manners (Chuck) of Orillia and Jane Strong (John) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Alec, Katie (Gabriel), Andrew, Paige, Tommy, Hillary and Claire; and his sister Barbara Flintoff (Bob).

“I met Irv in 2007, and we clicked right away. I was his helper on the farm, and loved it there. He shared all kinds of stories about his travels and adventures. We worked on several projects, and he enjoyed seeing the results. A few years ago, he decided to cut back on the work and mainly enjoyed reading in the gazebo. For a while he enjoyed a Canadian with his friend Moe. They watched a lot of playoff games. My condolences to his family. He was a wealth of knowledge and a great man. Elsie”
