He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Bullen and Alexandrina Thomas; his former wife Vera Gaffney; his grandchildren, Caitlin (Nate), Nicola (Tom), Aidan (Annie), Dexter (Madeline), Liam, Quintin (Ryan), Amber, Erika (Mikey) and Elisa; his stepgrandchildren, Natasha (Elllis) and Rhyen; his wife Catherine Serenyi; and also George.

Additionally, he was a warden at St. James Anglican Church and donated generously to Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and the Salvation Army.
